Let your imagination click into place!Celebrate National LEGO Day with a creative competition where builders ages 5–18 can show off their skills! Build a habitat for your favorite animal or imagine life on a whole new planet! Prizes awarded for creativity, design, and originality.
Date: Wednesday, January 28
Build Time: 5:30–6:30 PM
Judging Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Blaine Community Center
Cost: $3 per participant
LEGO bricks available or bring your own! Each participant will have 60 minutes to create their own build!
Age Brackets:
Ages 5–7
Ages 8–10
Ages 11–13
Ages 14–18
Judging Criteria
Each build will be scored out of 50 points total, across five categories:
1. Creativity & Originality (10 points)
Is the idea unique or imaginative?
Does it show personal flair or unexpected elements?
2. Theme Interpretation (10 points)
Does the build clearly reflect the challenge theme (e.g., animal habitat or alien planet)?
Is the concept easy to understand and well-executed?
3. Design & Construction (10 points)
Is the build structurally sound and thoughtfully assembled?
Are pieces used in clever or innovative ways?
4. Detail & Complexity (10 points)
Are there small details that enhance the build?
Does the build show effort and depth?
5. Presentation & Storytelling (10 points)
Can the builder explain their creation clearly and confidently?
Does the story behind the build add meaning or fun?
