National Gathering in Honour of International Day Against Police Brutality

Unceded and Unsurrendered Algonquin Anishinaabe Territory (Ottawa, ON) – On March 15, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, community members, advocates, victims, and families impacted by police violence will come together at the University of Ottawa for a National Gathering in Honour of the International Day Against Police Brutality.

This event aims to amplify the voices of those affected by police violence, demand justice for those who have been harmed or lost their lives at the hands of law enforcement, and share examples of community-led responses to advance social justice and prevent further harm from the policing system. The gathering will provide a free community dinner and space to build solidarity, healing, and collective action.

The event will take place at the Faculty of Social Sciences Building, Room 1006 (Main Floor), University of Ottawa, 120 University Private, Ottawa, ON K1N 9A7. It will also be available in a hybrid format via Zoom to ensure broader participation.
