About this Event

Join us and celebrate National Fossil Day™ here at SAMO!

Visitors are invited to explore a series if engaging fossil-themed booths hosted by our park partners, including the Natural History Museum of Santa Barbara, the Museum of Paleontology, California State Parks, and NPS Southwest Parks. Each booth will share unique information about fossils and paleontology.

Special Guest, Susan Morris, will share the findings of the Columbia mammoth and Pygmy mammoth on the Channel Islands. Presentation will be held on stage starting at 10:30 AM.

Additionally, the NPS Santa Monica Mountains NRA booth will offer the Junior Paleontology booklet and exclusive day‑only Junior Paleontologist badges for young explorers to enjoy.
