Since their inception in 1989, the Nairobi Trio have earned a reputation as New Zealand’s favourite jazz entertainers. The trio’s unique sound spans a broad palette, which they seamlessly weave to deliver an effortless blend of reimagined standards and originals all performed in their inimitable way.
The Nairobi Trio place their audience at the centre of every performance. Most at home on stage, they welcome the audience into their world through rich musical storytelling, evocative imagery and meaningful connections, ensuring plenty of fun along the way.
THE NAIROBI TRIO ARE:
Richard Adams - violin, vocals. As a musician he has received critical acclaim with his own Richard Adams Quartet and the jazz fusion ‘Neon Quaver’.
John Quigley - guitar, vocals. John writes most of the Nairobi trio's original material in collaboration with the other members and is an accomplished producer and music business executive. John manages the band and runs the Waiheke Jazz Festival every Easter on the island, where he has lived for many years.
Aaron Coddel - bass, vocals. Initially based out of Wellington, Aaron spent several years as a bassist-for-hire in the UK before returning to Auckland to cement his position as one of the top bassists in the country.
After ten albums, thousands of gigs, hundreds of festival appearances and dozens of international tours, we’re lucky to have the trio back in Katikati. �Book now!
