A Tokiói Filharmonikus Zenekar még soha nem járt a Müpában, izgalmas élményt ígér tehát Ázsia egyik legjelentősebb, több mint egy évszázados múlttal rendelkező együttesének bemutatkozása. 20. századi programjukat rendkívüli tudatossággal építették fel. Az est főszereplője Shakespeare halhatatlan szerelmespárja és az amerikai zene: a műsort Bernstein West Side Storyjából a Szimfonikus táncok és Prokofjev Rómeó és Júlia balettszvitjeinek részletei keretezik, közöttük pedig Gershwin Rhapsody in blue-ja hangzik fel, a japán Makoto Ozone személyében nemzetközi presztízsű jazz-zongoristával a billentyűknél. A koncert világhírű karmestere, a koreai Myung-whun Chung többször is fellépett már a Bartók Béla Nemzeti Hangversenyteremben, mindig nagy sikert aratva.//
The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra has never been to Müpa Budapest, so the introduction of one of Asia’s most significant ensembles, one that can look back on a history of over a century, promises to be an enthralling experience. They have crafted their 20th century programme with a great deal of care and attention. The main protagonists for the evening are Shakespeare’s immortal lovers and the music of America. The performance will be bookended by excerpts from the Symphonic Dances from Bernstein’s West Side Story and the ballet suites from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, with Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue in between, for which the Japanese Makoto Ozone, a jazz pianist of international prestige, will be gracing the keyboard. The concert’s world-famous conductor will be the Korean Myung-whun Chung, who has appeared on several occasions at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall, always to great acclaim.
