Music on the Portico

Revel in the sounds of a Gilded Age summer on the grand portico of Staatsburgh, the Hudson River home of Ruth and Ogden Mills.
About this Event

Come early to visit the gift shop, enjoy a picnic or hike as you take in the splendid views of the Hudson River from Mills Memorial Park, or reserve a mansion tour.

Each performance lasts one hour. There is limited seating on the portico. Guests are also welcome to bring a blanket or chair for lawn seating – no reservations required. Please note, parking for this event is in the lower carriage house lot. This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of Mills at Staatsburgh.

July 18 at 4pm: Hyde Park Chamber Ensemble's Woodwind Quintet

The Hyde Park Chamber Ensemble will feature American concert music and a patriotic medley of George M. Cohan songs. Come early to visit the gift shop, enjoy a picnic or hike as you take in the splendid views of the Hudson River from Mills Memorial Park, or reserve a mansion tour.

Seating on the portico is on a first-come basis and is accessible. Guests are also welcome to bring a blanket or chair for lawn seating – no reservations required. The concert lasts one hour. Please note, parking for this event is in the lower carriage house lot. Please check social media or call (845) 889-8851 for weather cancellations. In the event of rain, this program will be canceled.

August 8 at 4pm: Elaine Rachlin, International Chanteuse

Evoking the penchant of well-to-do Gilded Age patrons for European, and French culture, singer Elaine Rachlin serenades with her repertoire of songs sung in their original language. Come early to visit the gift shop, tour the mansion by reservation, and enjoy a picnic or hike as you take in the splendid views of the Hudson from Mills Memorial State Park.
