Our November performances celebrate the instruments and repertoire of Indian classical music and are co-curated with Amit Kavthekar of the New England School of Music.

About the Collaborators:
Asawari Jadhav
Born in Nagpur, India, Asawari Jadhav began her musical journey under the tutelage of Pt Bhattacharya at the tender age of eight. She performed at various concerts, on All India Radio and on television during her early years. After an extended hiatus, she resumed her pursuits under the guidance of Ustad Shahid Pervez Khan about 7 years ago. Asawari continues to perform at fundraising events for the benefit of the local community. She also aspires to collaborate with other instrumentalists, believing in music's ability to bridge cultural divides and promote diversity.
Nouman Khan
Nouman Khan is a sitar player of Pakistani heritage based in New York City. Nouman fell in love with the sitar after graduating from college and became a student of sitar legend Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan after a chance encounter in Toronto, Canada. Nouman Khan loves music, history, science and language and attempts to bring all this together in his performances. Outside of music, he works in the field of Generative AI for a global financial services firm.
Pat Lambdin
Pat Lambdin is a sarod artist based in Burlington, Vermont. His love of Indian classical music began as a teenager after discovering the music of Ali Akbar Khan. He is a disciple of the renowned sitar artist Padma Shri Pandit Shivnath Mishra of the Benares Gharana (musical lineage) and travels to India regularly to learn. He performs in India and North America and recently recorded “Shiv Sarod vol. 1” with one of India's leading young tabla players, Prashant Mishra. Lambdin has dedicated his life to music and to promoting Indian classical music to diverse audiences. He is also a music therapist and songwriter.
New England School of Music
New England School of Music (NESOM) is an educational and cultural organization based in Boston, Massachusetts. Drawing on the incredible repertoire of Indian classical music and with a commitment to nurturing its future, the school was established as a pioneering institution of this musical heritage in the United States by tabla maestro Aditya Kalyanpur in 2008. NESOM is committed to serving students and talented musicians from around the world by providing opportunities to learn, perform, teach and share their talents. NESOM promotes Indian classical musicians and fosters an appreciation of Indian classical music in the United States through concert tours, performances, classes, lectures, seminars, events and exhibitions.
