About this Event
Story, Rhythm and Rhyme: A Songwriting Workshop
Join us at Nashville Public Library: North Branch on June 16th!
Get ready to jump into the music of language and spark your creativity!
In this engaging, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the essentials of songwriting—story, structure, rhythm, and rhyme—while discovering just how many songs and stories you already carry inside you. Let’s bring them to life together.
Materials: • Paper and pencil (provided)
• A voice recorder—your phone works perfectly—or a tablet/laptop (optional)
• A playful, ready-to-try spirit
Come connect with new friends (or old ones!) as you explore how to turn your own stories, life moments, and wild ideas into songs that sing.
We’ll Meet and Greet each other then dive into storytelling to find subject matter and story for songs. Then we’ll learn:
· Art of Song – Structure and rhyme
· Art of Story - Keeping it short and sweet
· Art of Rhythm – Finding the feel
