About this Event
The creative journey is deeply personal, rewarding, and, at times, challenging. Many music creators struggle with mental health concerns tied to the pressures of the industry, the creative process, and personal expectations. This monthly gathering provides a supportive space to discuss these challenges, share experiences, and explore strategies for maintaining well-being as a music creator.
Led by Joanna Borne, a seasoned music creator with firsthand experience navigating the highs and lows of the industry, this group is designed to be both insightful and accessible and is open to all music creators who want to prioritize their mental wellness. Joanna brings years of experience in fostering safe spaces for open conversations, ensuring that every participant feels supported, respected, and understood.
This Month’s Topic: Setting Boundaries with Art
We make art, our art does not make us. For many creators, personal identity and self-worth can become deeply tied to the success or reception of their work. When a project doesn’t meet expectations, whether in terms of recognition, financial success, or even personal fulfillment, it can lead to feelings of failure, burnout, or doubt. This session will explore how to untangle creative expression from personal validation, helping music creators develop healthier relationships with their art. Together, we’ll discuss strategies for setting boundaries, maintaining creative joy, and finding fulfillment beyond external validation.Whether you choose to share or simply listen, rest assured that every participant signs a confidentiality agreement, ensuring that what’s said in the room stays in the room. This is a safe space where music creators can be open about their experiences without fear of judgment. This is not group therapy. This is a space for music creators to come together, learn, and support one another in navigating the intersection of creativity and mental wellness.
