MIHPF welcomes back the Valley Quartet to St. Peter’s Chapel for an entertaining pre-Thansgiving concert.
This concert will include a range of pieces based on folk and country themes, along with some fun holiday classics! Included will be the lovely Irish melody Molly on the Shore by Percy Aldridge Grainger; Ashoken Farewell by American composer Jay Unger, (which you may remember as the title theme from the noted PBS Civil War series); and the haunting Shaker song Simple Gifts by Joseph Brackett, which became widely known when Aaron Copland used its melody for the score of Appalachian Spring.
The doors will open at 2:30pm to allow time to enjoy the luminous Tiffany stained glass windows.
