About this Event
Mushroom Cultivation is not as hard as people think and the rewards are beautiful. This workshop concentrates on three major methods of mushroom cultivation and several easy to grow mushrooms. Everyone will go home with an innoculated log to grow their own mushrooms at home. Tavis will discuss shiitake, oyster, and winecap cultivation. Chef Erik Miller will be preparing a lunch option of local Mushroom Soup, fresh salad and Gwenyn Hill Bread. All Supplies are included.
Tavis is an amateur mycologist from Northern Wisconsin. He has been studying our local fungi for over 40 years. Tavis is the author of "Mushroom Cultivation"(Quarto),"The Beginner's Guide to Mushrooms"(Quarto), and"Grow Your Own Mushrooms"(QUarto). He is currently working on a two volume book,"The Mushrooms of Wisconsin." He teaches mycology at over 35 schools around the Upper Midwest and focuses most of his time on the study of tthe genus Russula. Gwenyn Hill Farm is excited to welcome him back to share his knowledge with fungi followers.
