About this Event
Day Two of the Multidisciplinary Interpersonal Violence Summit (MIVS) builds upon foundational knowledge with intermediate, applied-learning training designed to further strengthen professional skills, critical thinking, and multidisciplinary response. This day is ideal for professionals seeking to deepen practice, apply concepts in real-world settings, and enhance coordinated systems of care for victims and survivors of interpersonal violence.
MIVS is intended for law enforcement, nursing, social workers, victim advocates, and other professionals who work directly or indirectly with victims and survivors of interpersonal violence. Training topics include motivational interviewing for Soft Interview Rooms, child-on-child sexual violence, dual interpersonal violence and child welfare responses, late-in-life/elder abuse, and much more, offering practical, skills-based learning applicable across disciplines.
The day opens with a Local Hidden Resources Panel, highlighting Eastern Panhandle programs and services that address barriers commonly faced by victims and survivors, including access to care, safety, and support. This session emphasizes how multidisciplinary collaboration improves survivor access and outcomes.
Registration is required.
While attendance for both days is highly recommended, participants may register for Day One or Day Two individually.
Those wishing to attend both training days must register on both Eventbrite pages.
