Mukana Marimba with Samba Olywa - Benefit for The Food Source Foundation

Mukana Marimba and Samba Olywa invite you share some winter warmth at our concert to benefit The Food Source Foundation. Dance away your winter blues with energetic music from Zimbabwe and Brazil!

Start time: 7:00 pm Doors open at 6:30 pm

Tickets $15.00. Kids 16 and under free with adult. Tickets also sold at the door as available. Sliding scale at the door for folks in need.

This show is UPSTAIRS at the Eagles Ballroom (enter far left double doors). Apologies, there is not an elevator to reach the ballroom. *Please read parking info below*.

The show will open with a short lively set by Samba Olywa performing Brazilian style percussion and dance (https://www.sambaolywa.org/). Mukana Marimba takes the stage for the rest of the show, with their beautiful melodies and complex rhythms in the tradition of the Shona people of Zimbabwe, Africa (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100029115506995). The show will have a seated area and plenty of dancing space too.

The mission of TFSF is to address food insecurity in Olympia and beyond (https://foodsourcefoundation.org/). This brand new nonprofit came out of the "Souper Sunday - free soup for everyone" Facebook group founded by Chris Hyde (https://www.facebook.com/groups/814268350188077). Chris has been providing free soup from his heart and hands to the community since September 2023.

TFSF will focus on free local prepared food pickup and delivery, free local grocery pickup and delivery, and grants to other people and organizations that provide food assistance nation wide.
