Mount Agamenticus to the York River is a critical Maine natural area and home to a great diversity of plants and animals. To learn what makes this landscape so special, the public is invited on a free guided downhill hike from the summit of Mt. Agamenticus to Highland Farm Preserve. York Land Trust has partnered with the Mount Agamenticus Conservation Program, York Water District, and Kittery Water District to offer this outing!
There is no minimum age requirement for this excursion, but prior hiking experience is highly recommended. This moderately difficult trek will be approximately five miles and cover a variety of terrain, but will be mostly downhill. Hikers should bring at least two liters of water, snacks, and lunch. Dress in layers and for protection from weather and insects. Hiking poles are recommended but not required. No dogs, please.
