Moving Towards What Matters (In-Person Program)
About this Event
On October 5 at 7 p.m., Eating Disorders Nova Scotia will be hosting an in-person workshop, Moving Toward What Matters. Join us at 2711 Agricola Street in Halifax, NS.
Do you find yourself caught in an exhausting cycle of fighting with your thoughts, emotions, and body?
Want to learn ways to identify and respond to these unhelpful thoughts?
In this workshop, Psychologist Shannon Bedford introduces us to ways we can move beyond these unhelpful patterns and adopt a compassionate and flexible approach. Together we will:
- Explore how to recognize unhelpful struggles with thoughts and emotions
- Learn how to view your thoughts without automatically believing them, getting caught up in them, or allowing them to dictate our actions.
- Step back from self-critical and food/body-related thoughts and reconnect with what matters most.
- Learn about tools for responding to unhelpful body image and eating-related thoughts and feelings with flexibility, compassion, and choice.
Join us as we reflect on and challenge our unhelpful thoughts. Recovery happens in community.
This program is currently being offered free of charge, though donations are appreciated. Provide your mailing address for donations over $10 to be eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
Our programs are open to anyone aged 16+ exploring their relationship with food/body/exercise.
