Movie Break: Small Town Pride!

Keep the Pride celebrations going with a Movie Break! We'll be watching Small Town Pride (2022): Filmed in Alberta, Nova Scotia and the Northwest Territories, the film follows LGBTQ2S+ people and allies as they prepare for their local Pride celebrations. Organizing in church basements, classrooms and around kitchen tables, they take on a conservative town council that won't fly a rainbow flag and bend some rules to create a safe space for youth to come out. But despite experiences of isolation and discrimination, they love their communities and strive to make them places where everyone, no matter who and how they love, can live and thrive.

Accessibility Information:
The lounge is located on the second level of the Student Union Building. You can take an elevator or the stairs to get there. There are automatic doors to the building and OOC lounge door is open. There are gendered and accessible washrooms available on this floor, as well as gender-neutral accessible washroom. All-gender neutral washrooms are located on the first floor of the SUB.
There are different types of seating: wheelie chairs with armrests, armchair with armrests, and two couches. Unfortunately, the space is not scent-reduced at the moment. There is fluorescent lighting that can be turned off partially.
