About this Event

Join Jayde (RYT-200) for a Move & Meander experience—where hiking meets gentle yoga, breathwork, and mindful presence—set against the backdrop of a beautiful Spring sunset 🌇

This is your invitation to slow down, soak in the panoramic views, and reconnect with your body and breath as we continue to transition into the warmer months 🌞

This experience is intentionally designed as a flowing journey:

We'll start with an opening circle, then hike through Ascot Hills' lush trail, stop to admire the sunset and move through a yoga practice at the top, and then may our way back down to the park lot for a short closing circle.

🌅 Why This Experience?

Spring in California is fleeting—but magical. May sunsets in California have that soft, golden, almost cinematic glow—warm but still gentle before the intense summer heat kicks in. Think longer days, pastel skies, and a calming exhale energy, reminding us to:

  • Slow down and be present
  • Witness beauty in transition
  • Move your body with intention
  • Connect in community (or solitude within community)

This is more than a hike—it’s a nervous system reset and a chance to move in rhythm with nature.

🧘🏽‍♀️ What to Bring

  • Yoga mat or blanket (I have several blankets If you prefer to leave yours home!)
  • Water (and snacks if you'd like)
  • Comfortable hiking shoes
  • Layers (it will start to cool down as the sun sets)

⚠️ Accessibility & Notes

  • Beginner-friendly but includes one steep incline at the beginning. We will take breaks to breathe and make sure we're not leaving anyone behind!
  • Please arrive on time to maintain the flow of the group

🌊 About Move & Meander and your Instructor:
Move & Meander is a nature-based experience rooted in mindful movement, breath, and connection. Each gathering is designed to support grounding, regulation, and reconnection—with self, others, and the earth. Jayde Barber is a multidisciplinary practitioner working at the intersection of yoga, mental health, education, and visual storytelling. With a background in mental health, peer support, and social work—particularly alongside homeless and underserved youth at Youth Moving On—Jayde’s work centers nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and making restorative and healing tools more accessible to communities that have historically had limited access to them.

Jayde has been practicing yoga since the age of eight, first turning to mindful movement as a way to manage severe anxiety and panic. That lived experience continues to shape her approach to teaching: grounded, trauma-informed, and focused on using embodied practices to calm the nervous system and support collective well-being. After completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training at the Tree Yoga Cooperative, Jayde began offering accessible yoga through Tides of Jayde, bringing nervous-system-supportive movement into community, workplace, and public spaces with an emphasis on inclusivity, self and collective regulation, and accessibility.

Info: Please arrive early to ease in, park, use restrooms, and settle into the space. Light mingling and grounding before we begin.

Opening Circle

Info: We’ll do brief introductions and intention setting, a gentle warmup and breath work, and Jayde will share any hike guidelines or other announcements.


🕑: 05:15 PM
Hike Begins

Info: We’ll begin our scenic walk (approx. 1 mile), taking in the panoramic views, and stopping for mindful moments to breathe.


🕑: 06:15 PM
Exploration & Yoga

Info: Pause in at the peak of our hike for a moment to admire the 360 views, take photos, maybe a little dance party :). Then we’ll drop into a grounding yoga flow including movement, breathwork, and meditation—designed to open the body and regulate the nervous system. We’ll end with a gentle sound healing circle.

Hike back to parking

Info: Return to the trailhead at your own pace:
• Front group: faster pace, light conversation welcome
• Back group: slower, more meditative, quiet walk

Info: Optional time to connect, reflect, and enjoy the space before heading out.
