Mother Ink’s immersive writing retreat is a creative day for women who want to reconnect with their imagination, explore their voice and make space for the stories waiting to be written.

This is not a workshop - it is an immersive sensory writing experience.

No writing experience necessary. Just bring yourself and a willingness to explore.

What to expect

✨ An immersive writing exerience with Victoria
Explore your senses and imagination - find your voice and get your words out of your head and onto the page.

✍️ Protected time to write
You'll have time and space to follow your ideas, experiment with words and simply write, without the usual distractions of everyday life.

🏰 Newcastle Castle
Spend the day surrounded by history, atmosphere and the unique character of one of Newcastle's most iconic landmarks. Please note - there are some areas of the castle that are not easily accessible. If you have accessibility needs please contact Victoria at [email protected] to discuss options.

💬 Space to share
At the end of the day there will be an opportunity to share something you've written with the group, or ways the day has transformed you and your wrting. This is completely optional the space will be a supportive and encouraging environment.

You will receive a mystery writing gift to inspire and aid you on writing journey.

☕ Refreshements
Refreshments will be availble throughout the day. Lunch is not provided but there is a café in the castle and food shops nearby, or you are welcome to bring lunch with you.

Mother Ink is a UK-based creative sisterhood for women who write, create and want to make space for their voices.

Founded by North East writer, spoken word artist and creative facilitator Victoria Ellen, Mother Ink creates writing experiences, workshops, open mics, retreats, creative projects and resources that bring women together through words, expression and voice.

Together we write for escapism, business, performance, healing, empowerment or simply because we have stories to share.
