Motanka - Slavic Talisman Doll Workshop
Motanka - Slavic Talisman Doll Workshop - An afternoon of Slavic folk art, creativity, intention, and a little magic!
Join Pati Becker for a magical afternoon exploring the beautiful Slavic tradition of Motanka doll-making!
Motanka dolls are more than charming folk art. Traditionally created without sewing, using fabric, thread, and the power of intention, these symbolic dolls have long been associated with protection, prosperity, healing, and good fortune.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn traditional Motanka-making techniques and create your own personal talisman. Choose the doll that speaks to you:
🌾 The Grain Doll (Ziarnuszka) — A guardian of the home and hearth, associated with abundance, prosperity, good fortune, love, and protection. Filled with grain, she symbolizes nourishment, security, and the blessings of a plentiful life.
🌿 The Herbal Doll (Zielarka) — A keeper of herbal wisdom and healing traditions. Filled with fragrant herbs, she carries your intentions for well-being, renewal, and manifestation.
The magic begins before we even meet!
You'll be invited to gather your own materials, choosing fabrics, herbs, grains, and meaningful little treasures with intention. Each item becomes part of your doll's unique story. I'll also bring a colorful collection of beautiful fabrics to inspire your creativity and give you plenty of options.
No sewing, no special skills, and no previous experience required!
Just bring your curiosity, your imagination, and a willingness to create something meaningful.
