About this Event

We are excited to add Sturdy Shelter to our Most Awesome Brew Ride Family!
Our August Most Awesome Brew Ride will start at Sturdy Shelter in Batavia and follow the river south to Foreign Exchange in Aurora then north back to Sturdy Shelter. The route is mostly dedicated Fox River Bike Trail with a short stint on the very-well-marked Downtown Aurora designated bike lanes. Aurora has set the gold standard for bike routes through a city with bright green lanes, traffic barriers and even dedicated bike traffic signals! Foreign Exchange is just a half block off the downtown bike route.
Sturdy Shelter has been a Batavia favorite since opening in 2022. By providing a place where friends and soon-to-be-friends can come together in community, Sturdy Shelter is a true Batavia treasure. Special events, food trucks, local live music, trivia nights, Book Clubs, Bingo and a Speakers Series keep the taproom excitement going. It also helps that they pour an excellent beer.
Foreign Exchange brings a fusion of Cuban and East Indian flavors together to create extreme deliciousness. Dishes like their Elote Bites, Chicken and Paneer Tikka tacos and PeriPeri Chicken tacos will make your mouth happy. Like their food offerings, their beers are full-bodied and flavorful, offering up small batches and oak barrel aged beers. Rest on their patio or inside the taproom with a good beer and consider purchasing a snack to get you back up the river.

Registration for this Most Awesome Brew Ride is $25. For that fee you will get a planned and marked route, route maps and sag support. You will also get one free beer ticket from each brewery (additional beers and food purchases will be up to you), a water bottle and a $20 gift card from The Bike Rack. Ride shirts can be bought day-of the event for $20 both before and after the ride at Sturdy Shelter. Registration is limited to 125 people so sign up now to reserve your space for a fun day of riding.

Most Awesome Brew Ride is a Rain-or-Shine event. Dress according to the weather. The only conditions that will cause us to cancel the ride are lightening or hail.
