The Urban Horticulture Program is proud to launch Green Talks, a monthly speaker series bringing together experts, educators, and plant enthusiasts to share fresh ideas on plants, sustainability, and urban nature. This is open to the public - registration is required through Eventbrite

This month's speaker is Daniel Tuzzulio, the Senior Entomologist for St. Lucie County Mosquito Control. He will discuss mosquito-borne diseases and how homeowner and community practices influence the presence of mosquitoes. Attendees will learn to identify common mosquito breeding sites in yards and gardens, as well as practical steps to reduce mosquito habitats. Additionally, Daniel will share insights on applying Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ practices, such as proper irrigation, protecting waterfront areas, and creating pollinator-friendly gardens. These methods will help keep your home and neighborhood safer while also protecting water quality and beneficial wildlife.

Registration through Eventbrite is required. This event is also available to attend via Zoom.

Cancellation Policy: Programs, workshops, and events are subject to cancellation if a minimum number of attendees are not registered. Cancellations will be posted on Eventbrite, and an email will be sent to registrants.

Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants right before event.
