About this Event
(FBC) is dedicated to promoting inclusivity & safety in birding for everyone especially LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC & disabled folks and women.
Join FBC as we explore Humboldt Park on Sunday September 7th from 9am to 11am in search of fall migratory songbirds, waterfowl, and raptors, plus yearlong avian residents. Great for beginners, no prior experience with birdwatching is required. Families are also welcome to join (children do not need to RSVP). Binoculars will be available for loan upon request. We'll meet as a group at the boathouse and then head out around the lagoon.
Getting There: Humboldt Park is easily accessible by public transit via the North Avenue (72), Division Street (70) and California (94) bus routes. For directions using public transportation visit www.transitchicago.com. There is free parking located at the boathouse or on Luis Munoz Marin Dr. There are bike racks situated around the park.
Accessibility & Terrain: The terrain is rather even and the path we will travel on is paved. Be prepared to walk about 1- 1.5 miles while birding. Bathrooms in the park may not be available.
Questions? Please email [email protected].
Dress: Please dress in comfortable weather appropriate clothing and lots of layers. September can be hot and sunny so please bear this in mind with sun protection.
