Moorland restoration day with giffgaff & Ecologi
About this Event
At giffgaff, we’re proud to be a B Corp. To us that means doing the legwork to support local nature projects like this one on the Eastern Moors.
We’re bringing together local community groups and giffgaff members to get our boots muddy and plant thousands of sphagnum moss plugs.
By volunteering on October 3rd, you will directly help:
- Stop wildfires before they start: Damp, hydrated peatlands create natural firebreaks that stop extreme summer blazes from spreading.
- Lock away carbon: Healthy, wet peatlands store more carbon than all the world's forests combined.
- Prevent flooding & support cleaner water: These moss blankets slow down heavy rainfall to protect downstream communities from flash floods while naturally filtering drinking water at the source.
