The Moorhead's Edge: Smart Strategies for Small Business Success curriculum was developed by our West Central MN SBDC consultant team who have worked side-by-side with Moorhead entrepreneurs for years. They combined their firsthand knowledge of the challenges and strengths of Moorhead businesses to create a program that is practical, relevant, and deeply rooted in the realities of border community entrepreneurship.
We chose the cohort model because of the success we’ve seen in past programs. In each cohort, business owners learned valuable skills in group sessions, then built trust and support networks that allowed them to openly discuss and tackle the real issues they faced. Each participant also received one-on-one time with a consultant to work on their individual business goals. While the group sessions were impactful, the real value showed up afterward—many of those business owners continued meeting long after the program ended, supporting one another's growth and success.
We believe this combination of relevant curriculum and the power of a connected cohort can help Moorhead's small business community grow stronger and more successful.
