The NIU Observatory will be hosting a Moonrocks and Meteors event this August 5th at 7pm. NIU Physics' Jeremy Benson will give a talk about the various types of samples collected by NASA from the moon landings and meteorite discoveries here on Earth, as well as how to best view the upcoming Perseid meteor shower. Then we'll have real moonrock and meteorite samples provided by NASA on hand for guests to inspect after the presentation. Then we'll finish off the evening with open viewing in the Observatory, and will have additional scopes set up outside.
