Bookworm Barbs: Makeda Makes a Home for Subway

Makeda notices her class pet, a guinea pig named Subway, doesn’t seem very happy. Luckily, she loves to make things, so she’s sure she can spice up his cage and cheer him up. She signs up to take him home for the weekend and starts making all sorts of new things for Subway. But will he like any of them?
Makeda Makes a Home for Subway is our Bookworm Barbs book for August. Bookworm Barbs is our book club for rising K-2 students. We read shorter chapter books with lots of pictures. Older first and second grade students may be able to read on their own, but the books also make a nice family read aloud, too.
Bookworm Barbs is a book party! Not only will we talk about the book, we'll enjoy a snack and do a craft, too.
Pick up a copy of the book at the Children’s Department Desk while supplies last. Please register, as space is limited.
