About Mindful Art
Making and Appreciating Artworks can be a helpful and transformative process. Through developing a mindfulness approach to creating and sharing art, we can develop better awareness and appreciation of ourselves, others, and our surroundings. Gabby Willmott is a gentle, supportive, and encouraging teacher who facilitates a nurturing, inclusive environment for people to explore, express and reflect. In Gabby’s Art classes, participants learn mindfulness and meditation techniques and playful, explorative, intuitive, and expressive Artmaking techniques. No prior art, meditation, or Mindfulness experience is necessary. All are welcome.
In this workshop participants will:
Be offered time to set up their space in a way that they feel confident and comfortable to learn in.
Be given the opportunity to make a coffee, tea, or herbal tea for a small contribution ($1- $2 recommended). funds will be donated to the Hub Play Cafe).
Be guided through simple, meditation, breathing and observation techniques to help bring awareness to and connect with their artwork and self.
Be taught a variety of basic artmaking techniques
Be given positive and informative feedback from the facilitator including questions to help the participant make choices about their own artworks.
Be given the opportunity to share and talk about their own art making process as well as hear from others about their process.
Be encouraged to follow their own intuition and learn from their own and others experiences.
Come away with a range of mindfulness, meditation, and art making experiences that can be implemented in their everyday life to increase wellbeing.
Payments:
Please bring cash on the night, or pay via direct deposit (to be confirmed upon RSVP or on the night.)
Getting there:
Please enter via the Gate to the children's playground and into the Cafe door on the left as you enter. There is plenty of parking and has wheelchair access to the venue and toilets.
