Madison critic Rob Thomas will lead a haunting conversation with renowned Wisconsin horror authors Christopher Micklos, Sarah Read, and Alex Bledsoe as they dive deep into the craft of the macabre and discuss the "monsters we make." Grab a drink and get ready to confront the shadows lurking within the written word.
Christopher A. Micklos is a life-long horror junkie, an award-winning filmmaker, and a frequently published writer of horror-themed fiction and non-fiction. His two feature films, THE NURSERY (2018) and THE HEADMISTRESS (2023) are widely available on streaming platforms and DVD, and his debut pulp horror novel, TICK TOWN, was published in 2025. Sarah Read is the Bram Stoker Award-winning author of THE BONE WEAVER'S ORCHARD, OUT OF WATER, ROOT ROT & OTHER GRIM TALES, and THE ATROPINE TREE. Alex Bledsoe lives in a Wisconsin town famous for trolls and tries to get his kids to act like they've been to town before. He's published 15 1/2 novels (one was co-written), many short stories and a smattering of nonfiction. His two most recent books are DANDELION and WHILE THE CITY NEVER SLEEPS.
