Celebrate pollinators, native plants, art, and nature at this family-friendly event presented with Penguin Court and Brandywine Conservancy. Enjoy puppet shows, garden activities, butterfly painting, plein air artists, educational exhibits, treats, and the Pennsylvania Pollinator Photo Challenge awards ceremony. A suggested $10 family donation supports SAMA’s gardens and pollinator programs.

Visitors can play the Monarch Migration Game and learn fun facts about butterflies and other pollinators with the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners.
The Pennsylvania Master Naturalists have a new activity for children, helping them to learn the lifecycle of the Monarch Butterfly while creating informative dioramas.
Whether you call them Sparkle McFly, Flickerbug, Flashinator, Night Blinker, Lightening Bug or Firefly the Westmoreland Land Trust will teach us how to support summer’s favorite bug.
Visitors will learn how climate change is affecting our environment and have the opportunity to view specimens of monarch butterflies from Carnegie Museum of Natural History and Powdermill Nature Reserve.
Visitors are invited to participate in our Fluttering Flutter painting activity. Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art (SAMA) artists and staff will work together to create original works of art featuring butterflies.
Open air artists will be on museum grounds, painting the gardens and hoping to capture a butterfly in a painting.
Penguin Court staff will teach visitors about the various milkweed species native to Pennsylvania, a favorite snack for butterflies.
