Join us for Monarch Watch's Fall Open House!
We'll be celebrating the arrival of migrating monarchs coming from the north with our Fall Open House on Saturday, September 12, from 9a to 2p at Foley Hall (KU West Campus). This is a free, family-friendly, and mainly outdoors event, with activities for both children and adults.
Stop by to learn about how to create Monarch Waystations (habitats that support monarchs and other pollinators) and see the magnificent butterfly and pollinator garden created and maintained by the Douglas County Master Gardeners. On a good day, over 20 species of butterflies visit the garden along with many other small but important pollinators.
We'll also have tours of our gardens, numerous educational activities, tagging demonstrations, games, monarch butterflies, caterpillars, and (new this year) butterfly host plants available in limited quantities for fall planting.
You can check our event page on our website for further details and updates to our Fall Open House: https://monarchwatch.org/events/openhouse/fall/
