Ruby Grant Park isn’t just a gorgeous place to run - it’s a critical stopover habitat for monarchs traveling thousands of miles back to Mexico each fall. This race honors that journey and the vital role our local park plays in protecting it.
This event kicks off Norman’s annual Monarchs in the Park celebration, so expect a scenic trail, vibrant monarch‑themed touches, and a race experience that’s as meaningful as it is fun. Come be part of the migration!
Our friends at Raising Cane’s Norman will be onsite serving their delicious tea & lemonade to keep you refreshed before and after your run.
Participants Receive:

🦋 Custom monarch‑themed bib with timing tag (5K timed)
🦋 Custom color‑changing Monarch swag bag made just for this race and included with registration
🦋 Free entrance to the Monarchs in the Park celebration
The Monarchs in the Park team will also be selling their shirts at the festival - grab one while you're there to support their amazing conservation work!

We’re excited to welcome the Monarch Migration Run as a new stop on the Norman Race Series calendar! Because it’s part of Monarchs in the Park, this race will stand alone and will not count toward overall series awards presented at the Christmas 5K.
