About this Event

Time: 6 - 7 p.m.
Location: Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture
During this artist talk, Liz Obert will present her work from her photographic series Modern Vanitas and American Bodegónes and discuss how they relate both visually and thematically to the Dutch and Spanish still life paintings of the 16th and 17th centuries. Liz will demonstrate how, with the use of her camera in the studio, she creates similar imagery to these artworks. She will show behind-the-scenes videos of her studio and demonstrate how she mimics the composition and lighting of the Baroque masters, and will talk about how the lessons of these still life’s are relevant today.
