Mollusk Depot presents its opening show for 2025 at the incomparable Carousel Lounge, Thursday, February 20, 9-12 pm.

SIMONE BARON is a polyglot pianist, accordionist, improviser and composer. A listener of sounds beneath, within and beyond, her music plays at the intersection of the familiar and the avant-garde. Simone was educated at Oberlin and Tel Aviv University and joyfully de-educated at festivals and performances across Europe and the Americas. Simone has won grants, fellowships and residencies from Chamber Music America, South Arts, Maryland State Arts Council, the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the Hambidge Center, Bloedel Reserve, Istituto Sacatar, iPark, Strathmore Foundation, ArtOMI, UMD, Avaloch Farm, the Banff Centre, and Spectrum Toronto. In 2016 Simone founded Arco Belo, a GenreFluid chamber ensemble. Simone is a Victoria Artist and plays a Poeta XB Accordion.

THC Trio:
THC Trio is a group with focus on improv and free jazz from Austin, Tx, with Joshua Thomson on reeds, Jonathan Horne on guitar and objects, and Lisa Cameron on drums and percussion.
Joshua Thomson leads modern jazz & world music group Atlas Maior, Atlas Maior: Palindrome, while contributing to THC Trio, Break/Fix, Cilantro Boombox, Indimaj, Viva Palestina Orchestra, Micah Shalom, Frederico7, Alma Afrobeat Ensemble, & Ali Pervez Mehdi.
Jonathan Horne currently plays guitar with the Young Mothers, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten’s (Exit) Knarr, Heavy Meddo, Water Damage, his Norway based rock band Horne, a trio with Paal Nilssen Love and Jon Rune Strom, Horne + Holt, Fussy Chickens (duo with Sandy Ewen), and THC Trio (Thomson, Horne, & Lisa Cameron). Horne has also worked with Glenn Branca, Joe McPhee, Burton Greene, Perry Robinson, Kurt Newman, Bob Hoffnar, and many others.
Lisa Cameron has improvised live with Jandek, Mani Neumier, Eugene Chadbourne, Ingebrigt Haker-Flaten, Mike Watt, Faust, Ernesto Diaz-Infante, Claire Rousay, Alex Cunningham, Damon Smith, Raquel Bell, Tom Carter, Sandy Ewen, Thor Harris, Jaap Blonk, Jonathan Horne, Steve McKay, Rat Bastard, and others. She also plays in long standing Austin space rock group ST37.
Slothful Induction
Slothful Induction are Geoff and Marie Boyd, an experimental duo based in Austin with roots in Berlin and Texas blending guitar, violin, and synths into restless improvised soundscapes."
