Modern Stained Glass Workshop: Cozy Garden Studio, Loughborough

Stained glass is a centuries-old craft, but it doesn’t have to feel "old-fashioned." This workshop is about bringing the beauty of glass into the modern home.

In this 4-hour session, I’ll guide you through the Copper Foil (Tiffany) method. We’ll skip the stiff atmosphere of a traditional classroom and focus on the joy of creating. Whether you’re a fellow creative or a total beginner, you’ll find the process of cutting and soldering glass to be incredibly meditative and rewarding.

I’ve designed 13 unique templates specifically for this workshop—ranging from botanical leaves to geometric shapes. You’ll get to pick your favorite design and select your own colors from my collection of premium art glass to make a piece that truly reflects your style.

I’ll be right there with you, sharing the professional "tricks of the trade" I’ve picked up through my studies and studio practice:

• The Perfect Cut: How to score and break glass with confidence.
• Refining the Shape: Using a glass grinder to get those edges just right.
• The Copper Foil Wrap: The secret to the delicate "Tiffany" look.
• Soldering: How to create clean, silver-colored joints.
• Polishing: Giving your piece that professional, gallery-ready glow.

I’m a young artist driven by a deep love for the heritage and future of glass. My approach combines academic rigour—holding a First-Class Honours in Decorative Arts and a Master’s in Stained Glass Conservation from the University of York—with a modern, experimental eye.

Having founded my own studio in 2021, I’ve had the joy of teaching over 200 students. My goal isn't just to teach you a skill, but to help you experience the same "spark" I felt when I first started working with light and color.

• Small Groups: I keep classes small (1–6 people) so I can spend plenty of time helping you individually.
• Everything Included: All professional tools, premium glass, and safety gear are provided.
• Stay Fueled: Tea, coffee, and plenty of biscuits are on the house!
• Safety First: Please wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals). Due to the use of lead solder, this class isn't suitable for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

As a small independent studio, I’m unable to offer refunds. However, if life gets in the way, you can reschedule your session to any future date. All I ask is for 24 hours' notice so I can offer your reschedule on time.
