About this Event
Join The Nature Conservancy and members of the Rivanna Forest Restoration Partnership and help remove invasive plants for MLK Day of Service at Pen Park!
The Rivanna Forest Restoration Partnership is made up of nonprofits, community organizations, government entities, and interested citizens and businesses committed to managing invasive plant species and promoting riparian forest health along the urban Rivanna River corridor in Charlottesville, Virginia.
We will work on cutting and removing invasive vines in Pen Park to make way for native plants to thrive. Plan to meet near the parking area. Other members of the Partnership including the Rivanna Master Naturalists, Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards, and Blue Ridge PRISM will also be working to remove invasives in the park.
Bring: water, gloves, snacks, and dress in comfortable layers you don't mind getting dirty. All other tools and supplies will be provided.
