24th Annual MLK Day Celebration

Each year, Abundant Life honors the legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of celebrating our community. A candlelit march through the community begins the event, followed by an award ceremony and fellowship dinner to conclude the evening. A keynote speech is presented during the award ceremony.

Info: The march will begin at Charlottesville Abundant Life's Dickerson House (780 Prospect Ave.) and through Prospect and Orangledale Avenue, concluding back at the Abundant Life Center. Street parking is available on Prospect Avenue during the duration of the March. Once the march is concluded, we will travel to Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church in personal vehicles.

Info: Community trailblazers will be presented with awards, including the Beloved Community Award and the Laura Merricks Faithful Servant Award. A keynote speech will be given alongside live performances from local artists.

Info: Food selection includes fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, mac & cheese, salad, and desserts.
