The program starts at 6:30pm in the auditorium, but join us at 5:00pm for happy hour.
On January 11, 1865, the delegates of the Missouri state convention passed the immediate emancipation of all enslaved persons. Join us for a short presentation about the history of Missouri emancipation, followed by a conversation with representatives from St. Louis area sites that are part of the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom.
Join us in the Grand Hall before our main-stage event to enjoy food and drinks available for purchase from the Key Bistro. Visit resource tables hosted by local organizations to learn more about local Black history. Test knowledge on Missouri emancipation laws with our matching activity.
The Thursday Nights at the Museum series is presented by WashU, and African American History Initiative (AAHI) programming is presented by Wells Fargo.
