Climate change is making weather more dangerous and contributing to unnatural disasters like the extreme heat and flooding events in the summer of 2024. In response, the City is updating its 10-year Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP), created in 2019, and is looking to set stronger, more ambitious targets to reduce fossil fuel pollution that is causing more extreme weather events. The updated CCAP will include actions that are relevant to all of us - from how we safeguard the places we love to how we invest in public transit and build neighbourhoods for our growing community.
Join us for the final session in our Community Dialogue Series to learn about progress on the CCAP update, what we heard from the community last year, and how that feedback is driving our next big moves. This session is offered both in-person and virtually. Anyone who lives, works, or plays in Mississauga can participate!
To help you prepare for a thoughtful and engaging discussion, additional details will be shared with registrants prior to the session. Please see below for the session’s agenda:
1. Context Setting and Background
2. Big Moves and Action Planning
