Join us for the Mission Chefs Grand Opening at Jim’s Restaurant!
This special evening will celebrate the re-establishment of Jim’s Restaurant, a beloved Bay Area institution.
We honor the incredible women of the Bay Area who have empowered us, inspired by the love and legacy of Mama Rosa. Chef Aleks Zavaleta and the talented students of the Intensive Culinary Program have passionately curated an extraordinary dining experience, showcasing a vibrant array of flavors and fusion dishes that reflect the rich tastes of our diverse communities.
In addition to this celebration, Chef Aleks invites you to join us in honoring International Women’s Day and remembering her late mother, Rosa Evelia Lima, whose influence has been foundational in shaping her culinary skills and commitment to serving quality food.

Amuse Bouche: Fried puff pastry with sweet plantains, black beans, and a dollop of sour cream.
Soup: Abuela’s Sopita de pollo- A heartwarming traditional grandmother's chicken soup.
Salad: Oven-Roasted Beet Rosettes: Served with balsamic vinaigrette, complemented by goat cheese and asparagus.
Main Course: Pollo Guisado a la Mama Rosa: Slow-cooked chicken in a rich, savory red velvet sauce, served over onion pilaf rice.
Dessert:Rellenito: A delightful Guatemalan dessert of fried sweet plantains, expertly stuffed with sweet black beans.

Main Course - Red Wine and Thyme Braised Short Rib: Served over rosemary-infused creamy mashed potatoes.
