Founded in 1928, Mission Basilica School is a non-profit Catholic institution that is rich in tradition and is committed to providing a faith-based education to students from age 2 through 8th grade. We strive to keep tuition costs as low as possible and to offer scholarships to families who need it the most. Serenade Gala 2024 is our largest fundraiser that has remained a tradition for over 37 years. As a non-profit institution, tuition alone is not enough to support all of the wonderful student-enriching educational programs Mission Basilica School has to offer throughout the year.
Funds raised at this event are crucial for enhancing and expanding our school's technology to meet the rapidly changing needs of our students and staff, updating our classrooms, and providing essential resources for our teachers. The Serenade Gala specifically raises funds for our PTO to support various academic programs, including our Battle of the Books reading teams, Mock Trial program, and Academic Decathlon, as well as funding for class field trips.
Additionally, the funds provide support for our theater and athletic programs and all levels of music and choral classes. Thanks to this fundraiser, extra STEAM programs are now available, and several capital improvements have been made, such as new carpeting, gym enhancements, playground improvements, painting, and security upgrades.
