Expedition: Greenland is a statewide humanities, leadership, and adventure film series presented by The Study, bringing this extraordinary documentary and live conversation to communities across North Dakota.

Join us in Minot for a screening of Expedition: Greenland (2025), followed by a live conversation and audience Q&A with North Dakota physician and expedition member Dr. Jon Solberg.

The documentary chronicles the first successful south-to-north crossing of Greenland's ice sheet by vehicle—a historic 21-day, 1,400-mile expedition through one of the planet's harshest environments. Filmed by director Clay Croft, the story follows seven explorers who depend on teamwork, endurance, and thoughtful leadership to overcome extreme weather, mechanical setbacks, and the constant uncertainty of Arctic travel.

While the breathtaking scenery is unforgettable, the heart of the film is its exploration of resilience, trust, and the human capacity to solve problems together under extraordinary circumstances.

Following the screening, Dr. Solberg will share stories from the expedition and reflect on leadership, decision-making, medicine, adventure, and what challenging environments can teach us about ourselves. The audience will also have the opportunity to participate in a live Q&A moderated by Brian Jackson.
