As early autumn set in, we began to hear a distant rumble stirring the evening air. Faint lights flickered on the horizon, soon joined by plumes of thick smoke, tainting the sky with an unnatural haze. Drawing closer, we heard shouts and cheers blend with the thrilling, erratic crackle of engines. Curiosity overcoming our caution, we crept nearer, eager to witness the unfolding spectacle.
