Mindful Photography UK introduce storytelling and video making!

Join us for a four-hour fun workshop funded by Better Connect, specifically for participants in the North Yorkshire who are willing to sign up to Step Up or are already engaged in Rise to Thrive programmes. Read on to find out how to sign up.

What stories do buildings tell?

Join Rebecca as she supports you to explore simple video capture on mobile phones and introduces an exciting storytelling project.

Did you know about the Castle Museum in York?

- It was once a Pr*son.

- The collection was started by a doctor in Pickering who wanted to preserve ordinary, everyday objects from Yorkshire life that traditional museums often overlooked.

- There is a full-size Victorian working mill located in the grounds.

Who is this course for? This course is designed for individuals living in North Yorkshire who are currently unemployed or feel they could benefit from upskilling in areas such as maths, literacy, or IT.

What you'll need to participate: - Be prepared for a 1:1 call with Rebecca before the session begins to complete the necessary paperwork.

- A camera or smartphone with plenty of battery life and storage space (please bring your charger).

- A small lunch (no nuts) — light snacks and warm drinks will be provided.

- A willingness to complete a short reflective photography exercise after the session.

What you'll gain: - A deeper understanding of yourself through guided exploration.

- A connection to the city of York and its environment.

- Increased confidence in working within a small group.

- Improved skills in IT and navigating the internet.

- Support from an experienced and qualified coach in therapeutic photography, along with a small group of peers.

- Strategies to manage stress, build confidence, and enhance visual awareness.
