Meaningful Business: Social Value creation

Hosted by Enterprise Works and the School for Business and Society at the University of York, this event brings together regional leaders committed to making business a force for good.

This interactive workshop brings together local businesses, social enterprises, and partners to explore how social value can be created, delivered, and sustained through business activity in York & North Yorkshire.

Designed for organisations that want to go beyond profit alone, the session will unpack what social value means in practice, why it matters, and how businesses can work with communities, stakeholders, and public sector partners to deliver positive economic and social outcomes.

Through expert-led discussion and participatory activity, we will explore social value using an ecosystem lens, considering how value is created at macro, meso, and micro levels, and across business cycles. Attendees will leave with practical insights, ideas, and actions to help embed more socially enterprising approaches within their organisations.
