Mindful News Consumption Workshop
About this Event
Extra! Extra!
A guided workshop for staying informed and adequately whelmed. How does the news enter your life, and how might you engage with it more intentionally?
In this low-pressure workshop, we’ll reflect on how news enters our lives, distinguish between the habits that inform us and those that overwhelm us, and design small ways to engage with the news with more intentionality and care.
This is a discussion about news consumption, not a debate or competition. No specialized knowledge of current events is required. Attendees will leave with a personal news ritual, a few practical boundaries, and an invitation they can use to begin a shared news ritual with someone they choose, already in their life.
The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Logan Juliano (they/them), a relational practitioner and media researcher who teaches in UCLA Writing Programs.
Free to attend; donations welcome.
Suggested donation: $10.
