This weekend looks at developing handler skills to support your dogs learning experience, managing frustration and learning to enjoy the 'training journey' more and learning to identify and understand emotions in dogs. Dog training can often be focused on 'Observable' behaviour, such as if the dog completed the task then the training was successful. However emotional fallout can occur after training and tells you the dog struggled mentally to meet the requirements of the task. This workshop will help you connect with you dog on a deeper level of understanding providing so much more support to you dog through it's learning journey.
This will go beyond Operant Conditioning provide a modern view using neuroscience and an understanding of emotions in dogs, treating them like the sentient beings they are.
We also look at empowering our dogs by training them with Kindness, Acceptance and Understanding giving them time to think and make their own smart choices, along with building true self control of emotion and arousal
