Mike Davis & Friends [Swing Jazz]

The Mike Davis Quartet features New York trumpeter Mike Davis, known for his deep appreciation of early jazz and swing.
About this Event

Mike Davis is a leading New York trumpet and cornet player, celebrated for his extraordinary command of the jazz language of the 1920s and ’30s. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Davis performs regularly at prestigious venues including Birdland and Jazz at Lincoln Center, as well as major jazz festivals in the USA and internationally.

His playing has attracted significant critical acclaim.

The Wall Street Journal described Davis as an “eloquent trumpet prodigy,”

DownBeat remarked that he seemed to have “emerged from a time portal from the year 1927.”

Bringing together dazzling technique, deep historical knowledge and an unmistakably New York energy, Davis offers a rare opportunity to hear authentic early-jazz trumpet at close quarters.

He will be joined by two of Argentina’s finest hot Jazz musicians Lucas Ferrari on Piano and Fernando Montardit on Banjo and guitar
