Institute Description
For nearly three decades, the National Equity Project has equipped educators and leaders with the tools and strategies needed to drive meaningful change through our Leading For Equity™ (LFE) Institutes. Participants engage in deep reflection, dialogue, and planning, guided by expert facilitators. The program is designed to strengthen relationships, build new alliances across differences, and enhance collaborative efforts toward achieving equity goals.
This immersive four-day, three-night in-person institute provides individuals and teams with the tools, strategies, and support needed to effectively address educational inequities and create lasting impact in their schools and communities.
Key focuses of the Institute include:
- Examining the historical context and impact of institutional policies and practices
- Identifying individual and organizational barriers to successful change initiatives
- Emphasizing the role of emotional intelligence and trust in leading equity efforts
- Developing concrete strategies to center student experiences, foster collaboration, and sustain momentum for equity work in service of all young people thriving
Participants gain access to research-based protocols, tools, and resources that support equity-focused leadership and team development. The Institute's experiential approach, grounded in the National Equity Project’s Leading for Equity Framework, fosters leadership growth from the inside out, empowering attendees to lead with increased agency, purpose, and efficacy.
The Leading for Equity Institute offers teams a transformative opportunity to deepen commitment, strengthen relationships, and develop effective strategies for advancing educational equity.
Our residential LFE institute offerings are designed for teams. As such, you must register with a minimum of two and a maximum of eight people per team. If you would like to discuss bringing a team of more than eight people, please contact us at [email protected], as we can occasionally accommodate larger teams.
Important Lodging Information:
Participants will be lodged in single rooms. If you have any concerns about lodging, please email [email protected]. We do our best to accommodate special requests, but may not be able to meet every request. We thank you for your understanding!

We are intensely focused on humanizing our spaces. We focus on interactivity and connection by providing frequent body breaks, and attending to learning, practice, and healing in community.
In an effort to create accessible spaces for everyone, we ask that participants refrain from wearing scented products such as perfume/colognes, hair products, cosmetics, and scented lotions while attending our event, as these products can trigger serious health issues for those with fragrance allergies and/or chemical sensitivities. For more information on being fragrance-free, visit this Fragrance Free Toolkit.
By registering for this event, participants agree to the COVID-19 ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND LIABILITY WAIVER AND RELEASE OF CLAIMS and the National Equity Project In-Person Health & Safety Policy
