Join us for this very special opportunity to learn more about Flamenco from the experts, dance classes with our favorite teacher from Sevilla, La Choni :) who will teach online and projected onto a huge screen with amplified sound. We are proud to welcome guest singer and dance coach Marija Temo and guitarist Ross Fellrath will be here in person and there will be support classes with yours truly! We will also dine together so that we can appreciate Spanish homemade Paella by Antonio and wine and good company, all in the Midwest!I want to give a very big THANK YOU to ArtsKC who chose us for the Paul Tyler award and grant which will help fund this project and permit us to do a special performance at La Bodega the evening of July 26th so that KC can enjoy the duende of our guest artists and students can strut their stuff!
We have options! You can sign up for a single class, multiple classes or the whole festival. You can do the festival online or in person. Best prices are for the entire festival but pick what works for you!
Our schedule:
Saturday July 25 Schedule (all times are Central Standard)
10:30-11:30 am Tangos Class with La Choni (joining us online from Sevilla, Spain and projected with amplified sound.)
10:30-11:30 One on one time for guitarists with teacher and guitarist Ross Fellrath
11:45-12:45 pm Cante Structure and Improvisation with Marija and Ross
1:00-2:30 lunch is provided if you purchase the full festival and we will eat at MelRoe's Studio
2:30-3:30 pm Review class with Melinda (we will review and practise what La Choni teaches us with Ross on guitar)
3:30-4:30 pm Let´s dance to cante class with Marija and Ross playing
6:00 Paella dinner personally prepared by Antonio
Sunday July 26 Schedule
10:30-11:30 Class with La Choni
10:30-11:30 One on one time for guitarists with teacher and guitarist Ross Fellrath
11:30-12:30 am cante class (yes we will sing but don´t worry, this is mainly to understand better the letra) with Marija and Ross on guitar
12:30-2:00 pm lunch
2:00-300 pm Review class with Melinda (we will review and practise what La Choni teaches us with Ross on guitar).
3:00-4:00 pm work with Marija Temo and improvise based on what we learned, Ross will be on guitar.
6:30 arrival time La Bodega to set up and do sound check
7-7:30 set 1
8-8:30 set 2
