Midweek Musical Matinee: "Viennese Classics: Piano & Violin/Father & Son"

Join us to kick-off our 2026-27 music season with the much-anticipated return of two immensly talented artists who happen to be father and son: violinist Ariel Pawlik-Zwiebel and pianist Markus Pawlik.

Today, they present a stunning concert filled with gorgeous pieces by masters including Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Korngold, Kreisler, and Vieuxtemps.

Violinist Ariel Pawlik-Zwiebel,18, grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and moved to Los Angeles this year to study academics at UCLA and violin with Lina Bahn from USC. Ariel performs regularly as a recitalist throughout the US and Europe. A top prize winner of many key youth competitions in the SF Bay and recipient of an “Emerging Artist Grant” from the Berkeley Piano Club, Ariel performed as a soloist with several Bay area orchestras, was the concertmaster of YPSO and the Bay Area Youth Orchestra Festival and participated in theMusic@Menlo, Bowdoin and YCM Chamber music programs.

Markus Pawlik embarked on an international career after winning the grand prize of the Eurovision “Young Musician of the Year” competition in 1982, and has since performed as a recitalist, soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe, Asia and North America. He has collaborated as a chamber musician internationally, made numerous recordings and produced a documentary film which he presented at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Pawlik has given international master classes, taught as guest lecturer at UCLA, runs a piano studio and is on the Music Advisory Board of Las Positas College. Most importantly, he is Ariel’s father and chamber music partner.

General seating is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 12:45pm.

Thanks to generous donors to the Osher Marin JCC's Adult Programs, tickets for this concert are free.
